Yes, I really am a green-eyed girl and I love Star Wars, reading, Harry Potter, video games, and Nancy Drew. So I guess that makes me a regular geek. :-) I like writing and will probably someday write and publish a few books, IF I ever overcome my severe writer's block when writing a good story. I also like spelling, and I freak out if something is misspelled. I like reading, and I like to reread books over and over again, which a lot of people find weird.
Something un-Nancy Drew-related for a change--I was playing Animal Crossing: City Folk today with my friend Maddz, and she took lots of photos when we were in our towns. I am the one with the pink hair and the purple glasses. :-)
Haha, yes! I'm featured on your blog, lol Those pics are so funny :D
I keep a lot things too, but they're mostly in a drawer in my dresser. I have an American Girl magazine that I got, like, 5 or 6 years ago from my cousin. I don't even have an American Girl doll, lol
OMG, Shug sounds reallllly cute! I'll definitely have to check it out sometime!
Yeah, I've kind of always wanted a pet, but my family and house isn't really fit for one. There are too many things a cat could get stuck in, or a dog could tear up. We have fish once, but...well, fish aren't very interesting, LOL
I was always a good kid in school, as I think I've mentioned before. I just hated getting in trouble, LOL. I thought that like THE WORST thing (equivalent to getting a bad grade. GASP!). I was kind of a nice, smart girl-next-door type, haha. Then, before third grade, we moved, and I had to change schools, and I wasn't that girl that was everybody's friend, because I didn't KNOW anyone. (At my old school, we had the same class, and same three teachers. It was called Project Child or something.) Luckily, my aunt worked at the school, so I'd visit her after lunch. Plus, her friend's daughter was in my class, who I'd met a couple times before, so I had her. But I just hated that whole school year, lol. I've kind of blocked it out of my memory, haha
I actually probably could skip grades, but I don't really want to. Plus, there are one or two things that I'm NOT good at like math. Algebra is absolutely IMPOSSIBLE for me. Like, why are there letters?? Whenever I have to do algebra problems my head gets fuzzy and I can't even think. Yeah, not my best subject. :/
I'll check my Lost And Found for pitfall seeds, 'cause I'm sure there are like five, LOL. I'll bring them Friday and we can go "swimming" haha
Yes, you should totally borrow the DVD for How To Train Your Dragon, lol or find it on YouTube, when it actually comes out on YouTube. It was very cute :)
Hey, when does school start for you? My mom's aiming for the week after my evaluation (so, the middle of August). Do you ever feel like you actually WANT to do schoolwork? That's how I always feel during the summer. Like, I miss the routine, and my brain actually LEARNING things, LOL. It's weird, and of course I hate school again after a week or two, but oh well.
I remember in Kindergarten, when we didn't have homework, I was always jealous of my sister, who was a couple grades ahead of me, because she had homework to do, LOL I technically have homework all the time now, when you think about it XD
Random Thought: The word "Homework" reminds of that part from The Clique movie (and I think the book), where they're trying to make up a name for their like lip gloss company or whatever. Dylan's like, "How about Homeworks? 'Cause we make it at home...and it works!" LOL
Anyway, I should go blog about my bookshelf, or maybe this project/contest entry thing I did...Hmm.
Yes, I will personally call the AC weather man, because I NEED to get a tan, and I can't do that if it's raining! lol
Yeah, I know, American Girl dolls were SO in when I was little, lol My cousin had a bunch, I think, and I was so jealous! Me and my sister used to look through that magazine and figure out which one we wanted and how much money it would cost and how we would beg our parents to get one for us! Yeah, obviously THAT didn't happen...
There's too many places in my house that a cat could HIDE in, how about that? Plus, my little brothers leave there toys all over the house, and, well, who knows what would happen. Maybe I'll get a cat when I'm older, lol
Wow, that second grade teacher sounds evil, LOL I would've been totally upset! Not that I liked anyone in second grade, 'cause it was, well, second grade, LOL
Yeah, I remember once in Kindergarten, I was talking to my friend during naptime (LOL, don't you wish they had naptime in middle and high school?) and we got caught by the teacher and we had to sit out for five minutes before we could go to recess. I was like, SO UPSET! And ashamed, too, LOL But then a minute into sitting out recess, my teacher told me to go back into the classroom and get the whistle from her desk, because that's what she used to call us back inside. This used to be like the coolest thing you could do in our class. It was like an honor, LOL
I'm telling you though, I think you would really like Heaven Looks A Lot Like The Mall!! You should see if you can get it from the library or something, because it's just SO GOOD, and realistic
Yeah, your math class sounds hard, LOL I'd totally fail it :/
Lisi's blah-g was totally awesome yesterday! She still didn't say anything about the manga, but whatever. That picture of her with the packages was so funny, LOL
That's cool that you got the first three comments! I noticed that when I was reading the blah-g. I commented to tell her happy birthday (and I commented about the manga last week) but it still says "waiting for moderation". I've commented a couple times before and I don't think they've shown up either. I wonder if this is because I sign it with my blog link, LOL Shameless advertising XD
Well, talk to you later! I'm gonna go play LittleBigPlanet with my brother, LOL Awesome
Then later, it'll be time to post about my lovely bookshelf, LOL Maybe it'll give you some ideas?
-Maddz
P.S. Have you heard of the Bard Academy books by Cara Lockwood?
Haha, I guess your "tan" disguise wore off! Now, it's proven that you ARE a vampire! And a pale one at that LOL
I once got an American girl fiction book. It was a "Samantha" mystery one. I read it a few years ago, and I remember thinking it was really cool. That was when I had just started getting into reading, a little bit. I also read some Nancy Drew books, Harry Potter, and Ella Enchanted during that time.
Whoa, a pet gives you a 40% less chance of having a heart attack? That's weird. I guess, I'll be getting a cat, though, LOL
Yeah, during naptime I'd be like, "Why is there even a naptime? We're obviously not SLEEPING." Seriously, my whole year of kindergarten, I think only ONE kid actually fell asleep during naptime, LOL
Oooh, we used to have this punishment in my first school, for older kids...It was something like, "Well, this second grader girl wasn't paying attention in her second grade math class, so she's going to stay in the classroom, and sit with the first graders and see if easier math will hold her attention" Something like that, I don't really remember, especially since it never happened to me. But when some second grader girl actually had to sit behind in my first grade class, we were all kind of giggling at her and showing off how smart we were, LOL And it's weird to think back now and be like, "Wow, she was only 7, and I was only 6. My little brother is 7..."
Did you see my post about my bookshelf? I made it into a video. The pretty music playing the background, by the way, is "Dearly Beloved (Reprise)" from the Kingdom Hearts 2 soundtrack. Loooove that song! So pretty!
Other video game songs I kind of love are (they're all from games my brother plays): "Ezio's Family" from Assassin's Creed 2 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O0i6YFrSs6c), "welcome To Rapture" from Bioshock (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sEFIZh_Zscc), and "Cohen's Masterpiece" also from Bioshock (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nlu2z2gkhhI&feature=related)
I really don't have any idea what's going on the games when these songs play, but the songs are VERY beautiful!!
That Roost song you told me about was totally awesome, LOL That comment that said, "Warning: This song will cause you to slow dance with the nearest person in the room. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED" was SO HILARIOUS!! OMG, it definitely has that sound, LOL
Other non-video game songs I'm totally loving right now are all from Pretty Little Liars:
"Same Night Sky" by 2AM Club http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s1hjM8hypQo&feature=PlayList&p=722225BDE25F07A4&index=0&playnext=1
"Siempre Tu" by Diego Boneta http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LD0tZXkqkVo&feature=PlayList&p=722225BDE25F07A4&index=6
"Icarus" by Winter Hinderland http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PF8V3n72AVE&feature=PlayList&p=722225BDE25F07A4&index=7
"All These Pretty Lights" by Andrew Belle http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f8s3MKsdCVI&feature=PlayList&p=722225BDE25F07A4&index=11
As Alicia from The Clique would say, I HEART these songs (especially that last one)!!
Eeek, doctors scare me. Every time I got to the doctor's, even if it's not my appointment, I'm convinced the doctor is going to say "Well, it looks like you need some shots. I'll get the needle!" OMG, it's so scary, LOL! Me + Needles = BAD DAY FOR EVERYONE
My eye doctor isn't bad, though. He's this nice old guy, and they're isn't any reason to have needles around, LOL
Anyway, good luck at the doctor (LOL, that wasn't much of a pep talk, up there)! I'll have my gates open at 1:00 in the afternoon, my time. You should probably eat something before you come, though, LOL
The Bard Academy books are REALLY cool! They're about this girl who gets shipped off to this boarding school, for like, delinquents (she's not a bad girl though). And she finds out her teachers are famous dead writers! Like, Earnest Hemingway, Charlotte Bronte, Virgina Woolf. There's so much cool literature mixed in with it, and it's AWESOME. I mean, they actually fought Dracula once.
I'm not very good at explaining it, though, so you should check out the book's website: http://www.bardacademy.com/index.html
I just finished the second book, The Scarlet Letterman, this morning. She's in love with Heathcliff from Wuthering Heights, LOL (I kind of love him, too!)
Spray tans are totally weird, LOL They make you look orange, haha. I shall tan naturally, no matter how hard it may be to get the sun out and about
7 year-old's are a lot different then middle schoolers, LOL
Can't wait to the bookshelf! Yours is probably a proper bookshelf, LOL, not a shelf in a closet. Glad I can be an inspiration, LOL :)
I should probably clean my desk, too, LOL It's got books I have to read, my Cynthia Lord signed stuff, and a few water bottles. XD I guess the inspiration needs to spread to my desk and clean it, haha
Also, glad my bookshelf can be envied! LOL! I've been collecting them for like three years, so I think I've had a head start, LOL
Yes, those were some Natasha Friend books! Good eye! I loooved Perfect, Lush was okay (not my favorite book in the world), and I totally heart Bounce! You should definitely check that one out, if you haven't read it.
I'm planning on re-reading Princess Diaries soon, but I still need to get the last two in paperback. Plus, I have a ton of other books to read first, LOL, I am so behind. I've got about 20 in my To-Be-Read pile. :/
Right now I'm reading Gimme a Call by Sarah Mlynowski. Here's a summary, because it's totally awesome:
"A new life is just a phone call away...
Devi's life isn't turning out at all like she wanted. She wasted the past three years going out with Bryan--cute, adorable, break-your-heart Bryan. Devi let her friendships fade, blew off studying, didn't join any clubs...and now that Bryan has broken up with her, she has nothing left.
Not even her stupid cell phone--she dropped it in the mall fountain. Now it only calls one number...hers. At age fourteen, three years ago
Once Devi gets over the shock--and convinces her younger self that she isn't some wacko--she realizes that she's been given an awesome gift. She can tell herself all the right things to do ...because she's already done all the wrong ones Who better to take advice from than your future self?
Except . . .what if getting what you think you want changes everything?
Fans of Sarah Mlynowski's Magic in Manhattan series will love this hilarious new novel with a high-concept premise."
Awesome, right? Soooo fun
Yeah, I was wondering why that Roost song was in Mario, LOL Now that makes sense.
That Spirited Away song is creepily awesome! I remember that in the movie. Speaking of the movie, I'm totally in the mood to watch it again! Good thing I have the DVD
LOL, yes doctors can totally make me anxious! It's like I'll imagine them to say, "Wait, that's not a freckle! That's sign that you have *disease*! I'll get the needles" LOL
Had fun in AC today, LOL Fireworks are pretty! You can go to that same post on my old blog, to see the pictures. (Same text, different pictures)
Your friend got MLP already?? Nice. P.S. I Loathe You is on top of my TBR pile now, LOL Maybe I'll read it after Gimme A Call. Depends on if I'm in the mood for fun Clique books (I probably will be, I think).
Today on my blog, I need to do a review of The Ghost And The Goth, so I can be on good terms with the author who might get me an ARC of the second book. I loved the book, so that's not a problem, but I want to make the review as awesome as possible, like my review for Before I Fall...Any ideas??
OMG, Tanning beds totally freak me out, LOL Plus, I heard it was, like, really bad for you, or something. Eek!
*am jealous of your real bookshelf* I want my book shelf to look like Jackson Pearce's when I'm older. You can see it behind her, in this funny video of hers:
Your parents don't get you even one book for your birthday/holiday?? WHY? I'm baffled. LOL! And I would also like a $100 dollar gift card, and a couple hours in the bookstore. My mom is the one who always takes me to the bookstore, and she's always like, "Can we go now??" But I'm like in the middle of a brain overload because there are SO MANY good books around me, and I can't even think. She obviously doesn't get the same feeling, LOL
Yeah, Perfect might gross some people out, LOL, but I loved it. And I BAWLED at the part where they were celebrating Hanukkah, and they were like "Happy Hanukkah, Daddy" I was like, OMG! My mom read the book too (I had to force her, LOL) and she said it was "good" but she didn't like the fact that if, say, a girl was THINKING about doing those things, the book would tell her exactly how. Which is true, I guess, but the book gives you a lot of reasons NOT TO do it, so it's all good. Plus, it's not like I'M going to throw up like that, because I hate throwing up, LOL, I'd never do it on purpose. Ewwww!
Sarah Mlynowski's Magic In Manhattan books were so funny, LOL! One of my fave book series'. I liked the way it was written, like right in the moment. It's the same way with Gimme A Call. Speaking of Gimme A Call, it's getting so crazy! But when I read it, I'm like so worried they're going to do something to seriously mess up their life! And then I'm like, "HOW are they going to fix that?!!?" I guess you know it's a good book, when your worried about the characters, LOL
How did that 20-person canoe thing go? I'm curious, LOL I hope no one fell in! I went on a canoe trip once with my family, and it was terrible, LOL My littlest brother was like 1 or 2 then so he was crying, and it was a LOOOONG trip. I think we were supposed to do like a 3 mile thing, but my mom secretly signed us up for a 5 mile (or something like that). It was crazy, LOL But it was kind of fun, because we found cool shark teeth (I don't know why shark teeth were in a river, but I'm guessing they were from a loooong time ago).
By the way, I have something SUPER awesome coming up on my blog, this week (well, August 5)... I'm hoping it will bring a lot of traffic to my blog. Maybe I'll get some more followers! That would be the day! Anyway, aren't totally dying to know what the thing is now, LOL?
What's with the cover for My Little Phony? I thought it was supposed to be snakeskin! And why doesn't it have the Claire and Massie and Co. from the summer collection books on them? It's so upsetting, LOL! Why doesn't Lisi ever talk about these things on her blah-g?!
Yeah, Apple computers...Not for me, LOL! I tried using my aunt's once, and I was like, "WHOA. This is...really different from my computer..." Haha
LOL, I guess it takes a lot of time to look for specific books in the bookstore? My mom usually just asks an employee and he finds them all for her, LOL! I never need to ask for help, because I know my bookstore like the back of my hand, LOL Unless, I'm looking for a new book, and I don't know where it would be... Anyway, I'm so going to work there when I'm old enough! That'd be totally cool! Then I'd be PAID to look through books, haha
Remember the part in Perfect when Ashley gave Isabelle a present? And we never got to know what it was? I always wondered what it was, LOL I read on Natasha Friend's website that that was because Natasha couldn't figure out what it could be. ("A friendship bracelet? Cheesy.") So she left it up to the readers, LOL
She's also supposed to be writing a book where the girls from Lush, Perfect, and Bounce all come together at a summer camp. Sounds awesome, right? Last time I heard, the title was "Night Swimming". I hope it really gets published!
(Natasha also wrote another book, For Keeps, that has nothing to do with her other books. It came out in April. Still haven't read it!)
Sounds like you had a fun weekend! I don't even remember what I did... Oh yeah! I listened to an audiobook. Thirteen Reasons Why by Jay Asher. That's one of those serious books that you can't stop thinking about afterwords (kind of like Before I Fall). Here's a summary:
"Clay Jensen returns home from school to find a mysterious box with his name on it lying on his porch. Inside he discovers several cassette tapes recorded by Hannah Baker--his classmate and crush--who committed suicide two weeks earlier. On tape, Hannah explains that there are thirteen reasons why she decided to end her life. Clay is one of them. If he listens, he'll find out how he made the list. Through Hannah and Clay's dual narratives, debut author Jay Asher weaves an intricate and heartrending story of confusion and desperation that will deeply affect teen readers."
Different from what I usually read, but it was REALLY GOOD. I got the audiobooks, because 1) that way I could actually LISTEN to the tapes, not read them and 2) this fan-made movie trailer made it sound really good: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xZDa-yAo8IM&feature=player_embedded#! (It had some snippets from the audiobook)
Didn't sound really good? LOL, at least I thought so. I even commented on the video, which you could probably see (Shockingly, my username is "SlightlyBookishBlog" LOL). Anyway, if your interested in the book, you should check out the website: http://www.thirteenreasonswhy.com/index.php
Now, that I've finished listening to that book, I can get back to more fun books. P.S. I Loathe You, here I come!
Did you read My Little Phony yet? Like, did you buy it?
Also, the amazing thing on my blog? Well, it's initials are AI... Okay, I'll just tell you: I scored an author interview!!!!
Okay, so technically, the author just tweeted that book bloggers could email her questions to use as an interview on there blog, so it's not like I MET her, but...OMG IT'S STILL AWESOME!!! I was unbelievably excited when I got she emailed the answers, LOL The whole interview will be up Thursday. I won't tell the author's name (though, you prob won't know her), so it'll still be somewhat of a secret, LOL
So, Animal Crossing tomorrow (though technically today for me, since it's 1 AM, lol)? For sure? I'll steal my brother's keyboard, LOL (it's totally not stealing, though, I did ask him)
OMG, you watched She's The Man!!? Yes, I ADORE that movie, LOL! So awesome, funny, and so very quotable. Me and my sister love it! Did you like it?
Haha, yes! I'm featured on your blog, lol Those pics are so funny :D

Spray tans are totally weird, LOL They make you look orange, haha. I shall tan naturally, no matter how hard it may be to get the sun out and about
ReplyDelete7 year-old's are a lot different then middle schoolers, LOL

Eek!
ReplyDelete*am jealous of your real bookshelf* I want my book shelf to look like Jackson Pearce's when I'm older. You can see it behind her, in this funny video of hers:
http://www.youtube.com/user/JacksonAPearce#p/u/9/p4tRS7Hp_ow
Isn't it lovely? I'm so jealous!
-Maddz
By the way, we can play AC on Monday and/or Wednesday this week, since that's when my brother works. Can you make it then?
ReplyDeleteYeah, Apple computers...Not for me, LOL! I tried using my aunt's once, and I was like, "WHOA. This is...really different from my computer..." Haha
ReplyDeleteLOL, I guess it takes a lot of time to look for specific books in the bookstore?
-Maddz
AWWWWWW! THAT'S ADORABLE!!!!!! :D
